Lynda.com Certification on LinkedIn

Not too long ago, LinkedIn purchased Lynda.com for $1.5 billion, but outside of those who follow the online training industry, the news went mostly unnoticed. As a big user of both LinkedIn and Lynda.com, I was curious to witness what synergies would develop from this union. LinkedIn has the largest database of career-related information in the world, and Lynda.com, the largest database of skill-related information, at least skills which can be learned in the online classroom.

Lynda.com logoI am a huge user of Lynda.com training courses and self-taught myself to use Adobe Indesign which I used to format and layout my book Wine Sense for both physical print and electronic print, in Kindle and ePub formats. I have also used Lynda.com to up-skill myself in other Adobe products, filming, and post-edit film production work, agile programming, project management and a number of other skills. Re-inventing myself as a 60 year-old, I have completed 33 Lynda.com training courses in less than two years.

LinkedIn logoAnd now I can add these Certificates of Completion as Certifications to my LinkedIn profile! You can do this each time you have completed a course, or in bulk by going to Completed Courses within Lynda.com. Therefore, if anyone is reviewing my LinkedIn profile, they can now see what skill training I have completed via Lynda.com. This is a great way to enhance your LinkedIn profile! I added all 33 Lynda.com Certifications to my LinkedIn profile in less than 15 minutes!

Be smarter and become more attractive to potential suitors by adding your Certificates of Completion from Lynda.com to LinkedIn. Contact me or add a Comment if you need any help.

I entirely agree with you about Lynda.com and am a keen user of the site as well. Like you I welcomed the purchase by LinkedIn, another site I use often. Being in a similar demographic to you,it’s excellent to be able to up-skill without the need to leave to leave my desk. Thanks for the insightful blog post and now I’m off to read Wine Sense 🙂

Thanks for your feedback Jeremy. Lynda.com is far above the other training platforms in terms of well-structured, quality courses.

And thanks for looking into Wine Sense! Hope you enjoy it.
